Lindsay & Josh | New Orleans Wedding with A Sea of Love Photography, Venus and Co Flowers, and Lovegood Wedding & Event Rentals at the ACE HOTEL Part 2

November 27, 2018

We are bringing you today one of my personal favorite weddings EVER (PART 2). No, seriously. It is ah-mazing.

When Lindsay reached out for her wedding at the ACE Hotel in New Orleans, she didn't even mention that she was a wedding florist from Texas that produced beautiful masterpieces. She was just a normal bride wanting to get married to the love of her life. It wasn't until her business partner had to ask me a side question through another email several days before the wedding that I discovered Lindsay was co-owner for Venus and Co Flowers (which I was already a fan of before we worked together in past September in New Orleans). To say that I was shocked and pumped was an understatement.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.

Oh my gosh, it’s nothing romantic haha! We had known each other through friends for a bit but the timing never matched up for us. Finally, we went on a date but I was about to move to Los Angeles so wasn’t thinking anything serious. I moved (and moved on) but Josh would always check in on me and strike up conversation. Eventually, we met up again when I was visiting Dallas for the holidays and sparks flew. It’s always just felt so natural and easy for us and we could completely feel ourselves around one another right off the bat. Next thing you know, I moved back to Dallas after about 6 months of dating long distance. Then, surprise, I found out I was pregnant and now here we are with a two year old. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When did y’all get married?

9/29/18

Favorite detail of the wedding was:

The flowers! I’m a bit biased though haha. But my team knocked it out. A special thanks to my business partner, Hailey Kahn, for running the show.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?

- Anything having to do with our daughter, Helena. She was our flower girl and though I didn’t see her run down the aisle, I heard the laughter coming from our friends and family as she did it. Also, their Daddy/Daughter dance was something I’ll never forget.

Tell us all about the proposal!

We were living with Josh’s parents at the time while our house was getting renovated. Josh said he was taking me out on a date to Cheesecake Factory, I was like, “What? Why there? We never go there. But ok.” He loves a good joke *eye roll*. Then I noticed he was dressed extra cute for Cheesecake Factory. When we got in the car and drove about half way, he opened the glove compartment and there were these old flowers that had been sitting in there without water and died haha. It was super sweet and it’s very intimidating to get flowers for your florist fiancé so I always give him extra bonus points when he tries. Anyway, he ended up having reservations in this new hip restaurant in this newly renovated, cool hotel. Before going to eat, we walked around the hotel a bit and I sat down in this nook while he dug through his pocket for a second then got down on a knee and proposed. My favorite part was he did it really fast because I hate making a scene and he knows that. I obviously said yes and cried happy, happy tears.

What’s next for you as a couple? What memories are you looking forward to making together?

-We both have crazy work schedules right now so are waiting a bit to take our Honeymoon to Japan, but looking forward to hopefully having more babies and continuing to laugh as much as we already do.

What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding?

Breathe! If everything ends up perfect, great! If not, it’s ok! It all comes down to you and your person, the love you share, and the people that support you.
