Hello, hello! Lauren at Lovegood here today to share some wonderful news. Lovegood and many other awesome New Orleans wedding vendors were featured on Borrowed and Blue for Jenn and Lear's NOLA wedding this past fall. Jenn was a delight to work with, one of those ideal brides that was grateful brides that was in just plain love! Here is the link below for the feature, check it out today!
One of the hot new hotels in New Orleans in the Ace Hotel! Amazing decor, rooms, and roof top pool.
Every bride needs her best furry friend for her wedding day! Oh so precious!
Lear was one cool groom! Totally digging the shades.
Oh lovely are these florals from Leaf + Petal NOLA?!
The courtyard at the Il Mercato is one of our favorites! Lounge space created by Lovegood Wedding & Event Rentals and House of Modern Vintage.
While discussing rentals with Jenn she decided to use our two medium hairpin leg tables for the bridal cakes and the groom's airplane cookies. Cakes were created by Chez RuRene Bakery and C.C.'s Cookies by Casey Cordes made the adorable cookies.
We did a little research on the southern tradition of charm pulls for wedding cakes. This is a big thing to do in New Orleans. Susie McGee states in her article, "Southern wedding cake charms is a that tradition cries out for romance and elegance. Understanding this tradition is part of the fun of selecting wedding cake accessories for your wedding. Wedding charms date back to Victorian times. Tiny charms, typically made of silver with ribbons attached, were placed inside the cake. During the reception, bridesmaids and other attendants pulled the ribbons and charms out of the cake. This little ceremony was called a "cake pull", and it is still practiced today, particularly in the South. Today, cake pulls aren't just limited to the attendants. Children, parents of the bride and groom, and other guests can all gather around the cake. The ribbons are fanned out, and before the cake is cut, guests pull the ribbons out of the cake. Each charm tells a fortune or prediction for the future and is a quaint memento of the wedding celebration."
I spy our new BISTRO HIGHBOYS! Jenn was our first bride to rent them, and we feel that fit perfect at Il Mercato! Also, how adorable is the bridesmaid in blue?!
People also ask us what are some of our favorite things to rent to brides and clients, and we always say lounge spaces! It is a great way for your wedding to special decor that makes a statement and also a place for guest to relax while still being involved with the wedding activities. For this wedding we provided Patsy, our rosy red, tufted sofa! She is one of my favorite sofas we have in the Lovegood Collection.
Thank you to Jenn and Lear for having us be a part of your special day in New Orleans with amazing wedding vendors. We wish you all the happiness in the world.
